Ngo Oi Hong Kong - Day 2

To read about day 1 click here...

All of us wanted to save money on lodging to spend more on shopping, so we decided to share a room. When 4 girls squeezed into a room, this is the state of it:

super messy!

Since, we are in Hong Kong, we gotta Yum Cha in the morning. So off we went to Tsim Sha Tsui to yum cha! The dian xin in Hong Kong is really cheap. We ordered 10 dishes, and paid like only around hk$120 for everything. That will be like only S$6 per person? Cheap Cheap!

Wan Qi and me with the ' We Lurve Dim Sum' words written all over our faces

4 hungry girls waiting for our food to come...

Next is shopping time again. We went into this shop at Hankow Road that sells mainly local street wear. Check us out in Hong Kong street wear!

Deann dressing up in Hong Kong style

I also copy her. hehehe..

While we were busy snapping away on our camera, one of the sales assistant said to us sarcastically," Are you buying? This is not a Fashion Show!"

What the hell! How rude is that? If i were to quote one thing bad about Hong Kong, it will be their lousy customer service. The waiters and waitresses in restaurants were very impatient too.

We went to this pastry shop that sells their famous Lao Po Bing. We dont know which is the famous one in Hong Kong, but we settled for this one because it has got this actor poster on it. Must be not bad la..

So we went in and Stephy bought like 4 boxes of lao po bing and 2 boxes of sesame egg roll???

We walked pass this shop along Canton Road. It's called Twin Angel.

It sells all kinds of lacy and girlie bling bling stuff.. But very expensive.. so we could only see see look look..

We went to Harbour City, Hong Kong's largest shopping mall with hundreds of local and international stores.

Wan Qi n me outside Ralph Lauren

It was late afternoon and we were hungry again. We went into this restaurant called the Macau Restaurant at Lock Road. They are famous for their Portugese Egg Tarts and Macau Coffee.

The egg tarts are piping hot and the crust is cripsy with egg custard that melts in the mouth. Super nicee! Stephy and me ordered hot Macau Coffee while Deann n Wan Qi ordered the iced one. We all think that the iced one is nicer.

We passed by this stall that sells the famous Xu Liu Shan mango pudding and we ordered 2 bowls. One is the mango pudding with real mangoes and the other is the glutinous rice balls with mangoes.

Each bowl comes with a scoop of ice cream made of real mangoes!

Deann n me with our Mango desserts.

Yummy yum.. i love mang guo bing!

Its their Summer Sales now. Every where you go you will see posters like these.

Sale, More Sale, Further Sale!

We went to Granville Road that sells clothes and shoes at bargain rates!

Yet again another day of Big Big shopping bags on our hands.

At night, we decided to let our wallets rest by going to explore the night spots at Tsim Sha Tsui. According to travel brochures, Minden Avenue at Tsim Sha Tsui has recently become the hot spots for locals.

So off we went to explore...

There are many small alleys and streets in Hong Kong. On our way there, we came across some sleazy and dark small streets that has got some old chi ko peks. Deann n Wan Qi were quite freaked out. Stephy and me being the more adventurous ones decided to ask some locals to get us to Minden Avenue.

I happened to asked this middle age man who was with his wife. Somehow while i was pointing to him the street on the map he started to get close to me. He breathe stank of liquor. I immediately backed off and decided to run across the street when the green man flashed.

What a scary encounter with Hong Kong chi ko peks!

We continued walking along the sleazy streets hoping to get out of it when i saw Minden Avenue!

Woohoo! Finally found the place!

Wan Qi warned me and stephy not to be so reckless next time when we travel alone cos we attracted too much attention. I think girls cannot wear short skirts in Hong Kong one. Cos their girls on the streets are pretty consevervative. =_=

Stopping outside one of the pubs along Minden Avenue. Looks pretty nice from outside.

Stephy n Deann outside this pub called Cloud Nine. It's actually one of the recommended pubs on travel brochures. Looks rather posh from outside. It's like MOS in Singapore.

I'm back to Nathan Road near our Hotel. Nathan road is a super long stretch of road that covers the whole of Tsim Sha Tsui all the way until Mong Kok. I saw the road sign while in Mong Kok and saw it again at Tsim Sha Sui.

That's the end of 2nd day. More exciting reports on Day 3!
